"The venue felt like a home. The buildings themselves were so unique and the rooms were warm and inviting. The property was gorgeous and I loved the barn cats, goats and sheep!! The food was amazing and the retreat programming itself was a perfect balance of active time and down time. But the best part, by far, was the people! Everyone felt like a friend, and not just the other participants of the retreat...EVERYONE! From Brenda and Robbie, to Dena and Lenore. I will definitely be back and recommend it to everyone I know!" - April I (2023 Fall Participant)

Tentative Schedule for 2024 Winter Yoga Retreat
(all sessions optional) Friday: Arrival Day Welcome Reception Dinner Candlelit Evening Yoga: Traveling to a new place is exciting and invigorating, but it can also cause us to feel a bit chaotic, scattered, and stressed. Our Welcome yoga class will be an opportunity to ground and connect with our beautiful surroundings and our retreat community. On our mats we will establish a good foundation, a sense of steadiness, and prepare our bodies and minds for a peaceful first night of retreating. Saturday: Find More Space for Joy Sunrise Yoga Flow, 75 minutes, 7:00 am: Sunrise Flow, 75 minutes, 7:00 am: Welcome in the day with an energizing vinyasa flow for mixed levels. Healthy Baking Workshop Lunch Afternoon Pilates Mat Class: Whether you’re new to Pilates or have been practicing for years, this class is a refreshing approach to the classical format. Learn how to engage your core muscles while simply breathing and discovering new ways to move to strengthen your core, lengthen your muscles, and improve your posture. Sunday: What Brings You Joy Sunrise Flow, 75 minutes, 7:00 am: What brings you true joy? This inwardly focused practice will give you the opportunity to explore your true heart while staying grounded. Winter's short days and longer nights are the perfect time to indulge yourself in quiet introspection. Embrace your grace. Healthy Bites Workshop Restorative Practice/Yoga Nidra Wind down from the day by propping yourself into restorative yoga poses. Theses poses are held in a supportive position to help release stress, restore the connective tissues and allow the mind to be at peace. Yoga Nidra (“yogic sleep”) follows. Monday: Joy and Santosha/Reflections Sunrise Yoga, 75 minutes, 7:00 am: Joy is a state of being that arises from within. In this closing practice, we will explore postures that help us connect the second Niyama santosha (contentment, gratitude, accepting and appreciating what we have and what we are already and moving forward from there) to joy. Patanjali's Yoga Sutra says "Contentment brings unsurpassed joy", so contentment and joy are together linked. We'll take some time during this practice to journal. Depart by 11 am |
About Lenore Fusciello Baker (she/her)
Lenore is the owner of Grace Studios, located in Downtown Silver Spring, Maryland. She and her long-time friend and business partner, Michelle Radecki, opened Grace in November 2014. Their mission was to create a wellness space that would nurture every mind and body in a welcoming, inclusive and supportive environment. That mission has been at the heart of Grace Studios ever since. Lenore found her health and wellness career by way of American University, where she majored in International Relations! In her senior year, she realized she had completed all the requirements for her major, so on a whim, she took classes in fitness instruction and wellness promotion. Her life course was changed forever. She began working in corporate wellness teaching strength and Pilates classes, private sessions, and assisting with wellness promotion initiatives. Lenore went on to get her masters in Human Development at UMD, College Park while also becoming a health and lifestyle coach. In 2016 Lenore completed her 200 Hour Yoga Teacher certification through Grace Studios. The experience was transformative. It deepened her own practice and connection to yoga, while reigniting her passion for teaching. Her style is creative, fun and compassionate. She draws from her deep desire to help each student discover their strength and grace on and off the mat. |
